So a new Christmas movie is on the way, "My friend Marley".   I guess it is based on the book but since no one has seen the movie it's hard to tell just how true it will be to the story.

Has anyone hard anything about the movie?  I would assume since it is coming out at Christmas it doesn't end with a sad message (I really don't want to see something where the dog dies at the end of the movie or something).

I must admit I haven't read the book so maybe that would give me a clue about what might happen!  Do you plan to see the movie?  Do any of you have your own "Marley" story to share?

Just saw this story from The Leader  featuring a story about three pet masks that were donated to the fire department to help in rescueing dogs and cats in house fires.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a new bill into law today (7/22/08) in California making pet trusts enforceable.  This new law makes it much easier now for pet lovers to include pets in their wills.

This is a change from the way California has treated wills that included pets in the past and will make it now enforceable in court.  You can read more about the story and decision on the LA Times website.

We have had an urgent request from a member to help them find a home for a cat. I have posted their information below...

"I need help in finding a good home for a beautiful cat! He is a true lap kitty! He is two yrs old, red tabby with a super personality. He was my daughters cat and she has moved out and can't take him with her. I do not want to take him to the pound, since the put older cats down. He is a little skiddish around loud noises and especially dogs! but he is so sweet! "

I realize this is not what you would expect to find on a pet magazine page.  It is something you might find on a personal blog page, which is what we promote and support here at BarkleyAndPaws.

Today is the 132nd showing of the Westminster Kennel Club.  This program features many different breeds and if you are a dog lover it is fun to watch and pull for your favorite pet!

All of us at BarkleyAndPaws are happy to announce a new column for our online magazine. The humor column is written by one of our members, Chonny Echert. We are very happy to have her as a part of our pet family and we know you will enjoy her articles.

When we went to my sister's home over the holidays we had a chance to see Bailey, her new black lab. Bailey is certainly full of energy and when he goes outside he will run if he isn't kept on his leash.

Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement during 2007.  We have worked hard to build a website that people can use for pet information and just plain fun!

The blogging and comments tool, as well as the picture gallery have all been updated.  Just yesterday we updated and dramatically improved the forum software.
