I wish everyone would go to the room where they keep the "last chance" dogs and cats - I think every shelter has a room like that - and see if there is an animal who is living on borrowed time, that maybe you can rescue. I believe the animals know what their fate will be, and I have read stories about such animals showing gratitude when they are saved from it. If I could take home every dog that is condemned to die, simply because he is unwanted, I would do it. I'm sure I'd go through many, many vacuum cleaners if I did, but it would be worth it!

Every pet we have brought home has been a rescued pet. I certainly understand people wanting to buy an animal but I've never had an animal love me more than my rescued pets.
