Three Dog Studio
About the artist:
Hi, My name is Nicole Warren and I am a North Carolina artist, located in Asheville, NC. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Western Carolina University. I began Three Dog Studio in 2006, naming it after my three springer spaniels. I wanted to combine my love of art with my love of dogs, and provide people an opportunity to have special and unique handmade art of their beloved furry friends. In 2010, I became employed with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, NC, and added two more canine friends to the family! Between my own dogs and the rescue dogs I meet on a weekly basis, I meet a lot of funny personalities!
People are often curious why I choose to add circle to my paintings. In addition to the whimsical flair that they add, there is also meaning behind why they are there. A circle represents infinity, with no beginning and no end. This mimics the relationship I have with my own dogs, with our love for one another being unconditional and everlasting. One of my favorite quotes by Gilda Radner sums up my life’s work with dogs. “I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.”
