WXII Channel 12 updates winter weather for your pets!

Our local television station in Winston-Salem, WXII dedicated a lot of their morning show today to protecting your pets during the cold weather we are experiencing here.

It was a very well done report and section and I am grateful that they spent so much time talking about protecting your dogs and cats.  Specifically they gave some great tips such as:

1 - Don't leave your young pups or kittens outside if the temp drops below 30

2 - If your dogs or cats typically stay outside, don't bring them into a 70 degree home.  If possible put them in a basement or other area since the sudden change in temperature might be hard on them

3 - If there is any wintry weather and you have to walk your pet, be sure and clean their pads since ice can build up there and become very uncomfortable to them.  Also chemicals from treatments could be ingested by your pet and that's not a good thing!

We have more tips in articles (Who let the dogs out?) on our site so read up on protecting your pets!

Again, our thanks to our local television station and their continued support for pets throughout the Triad region here in central North Carolina.
