High gas prices hitting pets!

Stories in the news recently have reported an increase in the number of pets being left at animal shelters due to rising costs.  These people report that they can no longer afford to care for their pet.

The increase in fuel cost has also resulted in an increase in everything else, since most of it is delivered by truck and therefore subject to higher shipping fees.  This includes pet food and pet products.  With an increase in food prices, pet food naturally follows.

If there is any good news in this story at least people (some people), are dropping their pets off at the shelter instead of along the side of the road.

Will you please help your local animal shelter and donate food, money, or your time to support them?  If you are looking for another pet, or your first one, please consider adoption first!  We have ALWAYS adopted and we have never had a bad experience.

Thanks for supporting our animal friends!
