Pet oxygen masks now available for firefighters!

Just saw this story from The Leader  featuring a story about three pet masks that were donated to the fire department to help in rescueing dogs and cats in house fires.

I had no idea that anything like that was being manufactured!  What a great story and an interesting idea.  The article goes on to explain the difficulty in trying to place a "human" mask over the face of a dog (especially one with a long nose) and this mask is designed to accomodate that.

They have already successfully used this equipment to rescue pets!

I wonder how many other fire departments around the country have this type of equipment?  It would be interesting to find out what something like this costs.  I'll try to do some investigating on this and fill in the details later this week!
