We are looking to begin a drive to encourage all states to make any information about pet hospitals, kennels, breeders, or veterinarians available to the public via the Internet.
You may be surprise to know that in many states you cannot get this information without making a formal request to the governing body. Our home state of North Carolina is one such state.
We believe that the public has a right to know any information that could impact the quality of care that their pet receives. If you knew that your vet or vet hospital had been cited would you still take your pet there?
We find it interesting that resturants have to post sanitation grades yet you can't find out basic information about your local pet hospital including the quality of the care of the competence of the staff. And these are pet hospitals that now routinely conduct complicated and sometimes very risky operations. Some events as "simple" as a dental cleaning could take the life of your beloved companion if not performed correctly.
If you have any thoughts or suggestions about how to proceed with this (or maybe you disagree), then please let us know by commenting below. We plan to launch a major push for this in the coming months.
