Wounded therapy dog on the way back!
Our local paper reports that a dog shot with a .44 caliber handgun by a neighbor has turned the corner and on the mend! Heli, as the dog is called, was shot on April 6th by a neighbor who claims he feared for his children when he saw the dog run onto his property.
Many could question that he had the time to run back inside, find his gun, run back outside and then shoot the dog. Personally I don't buy it but I'll give the neighbor the benefit of the doubt. He claims he feared for his daughter and as a parent I can understand that.
If you wish to make a donation to the Stoney Creek Veterinary Hospital, 6460 Burlington Road, Whitsett, NC to help cover the cost that would be great. Heli has had several hours of emergency surgery which I'm sure is quite expensive.
By the way, Heli IS a certified therapy dog and visits hospitals and nursing homes around the area to raise the spirits of those people. Certainly sounds like a threating dog to me ....
