There can be a variety of reasons. Does your friend apply any lotion or cream that might taste good to your dog? A person's sweat is salty and dogs like the taste of that also. And if your friend pets the dog she may just be encouraging the behavior. As long as your dog stops when you tell her I don't think there is anything you should worry about.
