The teacup Pomeranian: Know what makes them special

There seems to be a trend that has started and bloomed over the last several years and it seems to have come from celebrities who love carrying around those tiny dogs in their purses. The idea of having such a tiny dog that you can literally take them anywhere with you is something that appeals to a lot of people and the teacup Pomeranian is one of the smallest dogs you can get.

It is not only their cuteness factor that many people fall in love with but it is the general idea that the smaller the dog is, the easier it will be to take care of and to manage. But buyers beware, as that may not always be the case. The teacup Pomeranian is not a dog that can be left without pampering and there is a lot of care that comes along with having this dog and a lot comes because of what makes them so easy to love ? their looks.

The teacup Pomeranian is also referred to as a miniature toy dog and this toy dog is certainly an active one. This compact and intelligent dog has a short back and their undercoat is usually very dense. The outer coat is more harsh then the under coat and their tail is a fluffy, or plump, tail that seems to rest on the dogs back inside of hanging down like most other dogs.

The colors of the teacup Pomeranian are wide in variety as they come in black, brown, white, or a mix coat. These puppies usually grow to be about eight to eleven inches in height and three to seven pounds in weight. Their colored coats are long and straight and they need to be brushed daily to prevent a messy buildup of knots and such even though they only shed about once or twice a year. You will also want to make sure that your teacup Pomeranian receives a bath at least once a month to keep them clean and to keep their coat looking sharp.

The teacup Pomeranian is the perfect addition into anyone's home as long as they do not have small children running around. Although many people see this toy breed as a happy and hyper dog, the roughness and scary movements that children display around dogs disturb them easily.

This breed does not need to have a lot of room so it is okay to be in a house or in an apartment. They thrive on attention and need that love often in order to maintain total happiness.

There is the positive point that they are well with other animals so even though they love their attention, they are still willing to share the spotlight a little with other pets. And just like the brushing that has to be done a lot, their teeth need brushed almost daily as the teacup Pomeranians are prone to missing teeth if not properly cared for.

You also want to watch breeding this toy dog as giving birth is something that has been proven a hard task and ends up requiring surgery a lot of the time.
