How do I stop my dog from barking

You don't want your dog to be barking whenever they aren't supposed to. If it is late at night and they hear someone near the house, or they are excited, that is fine, but you don't want to have to listen to your dog barking constantly because it is going to be frustrating. You need to make sure, if you are taking on the responsibility of having a dog, that you teach them that you are in control and that they need to listen.

Barking is one of the most common complaints that dog owners have, but you should know that there are many great ways for you to stop your dog from barking.

Practice Leaving Your House

A possible reason why dog owners must train their dog to stop barking is because their dogs will simply bark non-stop once the owners leave the home. If this is the reason why your dog is barking, then you will want to try practicing leaving your house. All you need to do is to say goodbye to your pet.  But ensure that you don't make it too dramatic.

If you do that, you are simply giving your dog a reason to begin barking. Therefore, just give your dog a quick kiss or goodbye before leaving. In order to stop your dog's barking problems, once your pretend to leave the house and are now standing outside your front door, here is what you should do. If you hear any barking from your dog, wait for about 60 seconds. Then, open up the door and tell him no with a very stern voice.

Give Them Something to Play With While You Are Gone

In order to stop your dog from barking, you can try to give them something while you are away. It can be a bone or a play toy. As long as your dog has something he can play with while you are not around, then they are more unlikely to become bored and begin barking.

These two tips are both great if your dog has problems with barking. However, there are still other methods you can use as well in order to deal with dog barking problems. Some dogs might be easier to train and will stop barking early on in the training. Some dogs are more tricky to deal with and more time will be needed.  Just make sure that you remain patient and be stern with them so that they know you are serious. This is because you need to show them that you are in charge.
